Iconographic description

The threshold between room 3 and 4 has a decoration with white octagons on black background with a border of black and white stripes. Covering composition of octagons, as disposed on the threshold of the room, appeared for the first time in Rome between the end of the first century BC and the beginning of the first century AD and began to spread during the first century AD, showing gradually more complexe solutions with the addition of decorative elements and polychromy (MEDER J. 2003, Podni mozaici u Hrvatskoj od 1. do 6. stoljeća.
